ConneXions has residential options to suit the diverse but individual needs of adults with a developmental disability. Whether serving independent residents or those who require more care, all of our residential programs encourage community inclusion.
Participants need a referral from the North Shore Office of Community Living BC (CLBC) in order to access a residential program.
ConneXions provides full time care for more than 50 individuals. Each residence has a trained staff team that supports the individuals living there.
Support varies according to the needs of the individual and may include personal care, training in daily living activities and behavioural support. An average of 4 residents live in each home and the homes all reflect the needs of individual residents. The homes are also a real part of the community.
In addition to our group homes, Home Sharing supports persons living with caregivers in the community or in family homes so that they can enjoy lives of independence. This alternative residential option provides a more individual and natural level of support than in a staffed residence.
Home Sharing represents another residential service option in which an individual lives with a contracted care provider.
With Home Sharing, caregivers (families or individuals) open their home to a person with a developmental disability. These caregivers become contractors with the Society.
We screen caregivers and then carefully match them with the individuals in care. We provide follow up support to both the individual and the caregiver. Contracts are for one year and are renewable on an annual basis.
