Inclusive Recreation and Education

The Summit

Program Description

The Summit is an exciting and supportive place for individuals with a developmental disability to go and participate in programs that support their needs.

Participation is by membership for a small fee. Members help us to decide what programs we will offer and what resources are available. Our current programs service children, youth, adults and seniors with developmental disabilities, and support their families and caregivers.

Our programs are recreational and educational. They enhance social, physical, and life skills. The types of programs we offer include:

  • Art, Music and Dance
  • Cooking and Baking
  • Social and Life Skills
  • Sport and Fitness
  • Youth Specific (Avengers)
  • Seniors Specific (55 years +)
  • Weekend and Evening Community Outings
  • Supported Volunteer Work

Our facility also boasts one of the only Snoezelen Rooms in the Metro Vancouver area.  Snoezelen is a multi-sensory experience based on recreation therapy philosophies.  The space is open to members of the public, and is beneficial to individuals with all forms of disability.
